A Review of Guerilla Blogger's Strategy E-book

"Let the battle of bloggers begin"
A catchy phrase that you know will work perfectly!

Perfect indeed, knowing that this e-book was created by one of the most prominent bloggers in the Philippines, Marhgil Macuha and Zigfred Diaz. Both are experts, or at least I, personally consider them to be one, in this field called blogging. They've been very successful with their blogs that they thought, "Hey! Perhaps it's time to share what we know, what we've experienced, and what we've learned from the process of blogging and making money from it."

Well, as a newbie blogger myself, all I can say is... "That's a very nice thought!"

Anyway, enough of this chit-chat and giving compliments to these pro-bloggers (I'm sure they're getting a lot of big C everyday so they're probably tired of hearing another one).

Presenting... The Guerilla Blogger's Strategy and Tactics on How to Make Money Online by Marghil Macuha and Zigfred Diaz.
A 36-page e-book showcasing the strategies and tips used and shared by these two bloggers towards a successful blogging (career) and making money online.

Here's my review for this e-book

First impression does last!
As I opened the PDF file, the first thing I saw from my 1024 x 768 screen is this

Simple and professional-looking which I'm sure it is something that Che Guevara would be proud of. :)
And so I thought, "OK! We're into something here."

As I scroll down further, I notice that the authors are trying to implement the idea of Guerilla Warfare into their blogging tips. I mean just look at the Table of Contents and you'll see what I'm talking about.
Personally, I think it's pretty creative. Instead of reading some straightforward words from a professional blogger, it's nice to see something different. With this e-book, you'll really feel that you're part of Guevara's clan, ready to bombard the world of blogging.

What I've Learned

This review wouldn't be complete without stating the things that I've learned from this e-book. Well that's the goal, to educate! And the authors are very successful for educating me... 'cause I learned a lot!

Although there are few things from this e-book which I already knew, there are still some tips which I consider to be very valuable for a blogger who wants to embody the game of SEO (search engine optimization).

Using Google Trends

Before, I only use the Google AdWords Keyword Tool for my keyword research. I never thought that this thing called Google Trends is existing all along. But because of this e-book, I'm now ready to take my keyword research to the next level.

Diaz and Macuha's Personal Keyword Research Techniques

They've shared their personal strategies on how to find productive keywords, and I personally love it!
I'll just enumerate the points (you can go into a more detailed explanation for each points when you download and read the e-book, pages 16-17):

For Macuha - Browse through Top Posts / User Online / MVTracker Public Statistics / Mapstats Public Statistics.

For Diaz - From Day to Day Experiences / Awaited Events / Misspelled Words / Society and Environment / Google Trends.

Sounds new?
A big YES for me! I never expected to read these tips but I treat it with so much value. Although I'm not sure if they have said it all (if you know what I mean) but who cares, what was provided must be appreciated!

How to Calculate the Click-Through Rate

Being new to adsense, it's obvious that I don't know anything about calculating the click-through rate for my adsense ads. But thanks to the page 12 of this e-book, it makes sense to me now.

And Other Miscellaneous Things Such As

- The term "HITLOD" which stands for High-Traffic but Low-Density Keywords.
- The study conducted by Cornell University that reveals the click-through rate of the top link in the SERP or Search Engine Results Page. (You'll be blown away by the result and it will serve as an urge for you to work hard to get to the top.)
- Charlie Bit Me! (HAHA! Before, I was not aware of the existence of this video but now it's one of my fave.)
- And the encouraging words of Mr. Diaz in order to be an everlasting blogger (from page 23 to 24).


The e-book wraps up (before the About The Authors section) with the word COMMITMENT and it was followed by a Bible verse:

More than having commitment, never forget to commit your work to the Lord for he has promised that if you do this, “your work will succeed” (Prov. 16:3)

How's that for a change!?! You wouldn't see that with any other SEO / Blogging e-books. LOL
But I'm a Christian myself so I appreciated it a lot.

PERSONAL REMARKS
Always remember the word COMMITMENT, just like any money-making activities, both offline and online, or even when you're in some sort of a warfare as what Guevara had experienced, you really need to commit yourself into something good in order for you to succeed. Blogging requires patience, hard work, again - commitment, and perhaps some sense of humor. Just be passionate about it and make sure to have fun in the process.
